UFL Suspends Hartford Colonials’ Operations, Will Have Four Teams In ’11

The UFL today announced that the league will operate with four teams for the ’11 season after suspending operation of the Hartford Colonials. UFL Commissioner Michael Huyghue in a statement said, “We have not closed the door on Hartford and will review the viability of returning to the city at the end of this season.” The season will begin Sept. 15 (UFL). Word of the “Colonials’ demise has been the subject of rumors for months” (COURANT.com, 8/10).
